Well, it only took me six weeks or some unbelievably long period of time, but I finished Oryx and Crake by Margaret Atwood. I'm so busy with school reading and paper reading, that I leave my pleasure reading to fifteen or twenty minutes before bed at night, when I can.
Oryx and Crake is dystopian, like Atwood's brilliant The Handmaid's Tale. It's not quite as affecting as THT, but it presents an interesting picture of male friendship, as well as a believable picture of earth's endgame. It's not my favorite Atwood (The Robber Bride, is, I think, but it's hard), but it has the classic Atwood creepiness. I love reading her more futuristic novels because they just leave the reader unsettled. Good stuff.
